Tickets now available for the 2019 Great Library Quiz night!

The annual ALIAWest Great Library Quiz is on again at the State Library of Western Australia on the evening of Thursday 5th December 2019. With all the usual merriment, games and prizes, we just know this year is going to be another successful fundraiser for the Sharr Award and Kay Poustie Scholarship, and the ideal way to kick off the festive season with friends and colleagues.

As always the Quiz will be held in the Great Southern Room at the State Library of WA. Doors open at 6pm, the Quiz will commence at 6.30pm and wrap up around 9.15pm.

Simply follow these steps to secure your place at the Quiz 

Step 1: Get your team of 8 together, then select one member of your team to register and pay online for your table via https://membership.alia.org.au/events/event/2019-great-library-quiz-aliawest. ​Select the ‘Book a table’ option at the bottom of the page and click on ‘Submit‘. The cost of a table is $80 + GST ($10 + GST per person).

Step 2: You’ll be asked to enter your own details first (or prompted to sign in if you have an ALIA account), then taken to a page with a blank grid where you can enter your team members’ names (if known). Entering your team members’ names is entirely optional – we suggest you skip this step by leaving the grid blank and simply clicking on the ‘Add Table to Cart’ button (in the bottom right hand corner, underneath the grid). It’s much quicker to skip this step! Just be sure your team members know that you’ve booked the table to avoid any double-bookings.


Step 3: You’ll be asked to review your order, then click on the red ‘Complete Order’ button in the right-hand corner to be taken through the payment steps.

If you don’t have a team yet – don’t worry, we’ll find you a team to join on the night, so use the ‘Register myself‘ option to buy an individual ticket for $10 (+ GST).

Registrations close at 11pm on Monday 2nd December – don’t delay as tickets will sell out!

Be sure to bring cash to the quiz so you don’t miss out on the games and raffles. Remember, all money raised supports the F A Sharr Award and the Kay Poustie Scholarship.

Please feel free to invite colleagues and friends – it’s not just a quiz for librarians, nor is it a quiz about libraries!
