On the 14th March I was privileged to be able to attend ALIA Island’s event – Libraries for Good.
There was a variety of informative presentations from a range of speakers followed by a panel discussion which the attendees engaged with as well.
Covering school, special, public and academic libraries, it was interesting to hear that the experiences from Tasmania mirrored so many in WA. The event was very well attended and ended with a networking session at the end.
I was sorry to have missed most of the presentation by Petrina Osborne, talking about school literacy and lack of teacher librarians, and how it is being addressed. Yet again, it mirrors WA’s experiences.
It also hosted the awarding of ALIA Pins by Emily Wilson, Engagement Manager, ALIA
Very well done to Nathan and Lily, so glad it fitted in with my time in Tassie!
