by | Mar 13, 2019 | ALIA West, blockchain, events, networking, SLWA, State Library of WA

Come and break the ice as we kick off our first event for 2019 with an evening all about Blockchain.
We will hear from two speakers who – by the end of the evening – will help demystify the technology and give you a basic understanding of how Blockchain is being used, how it can be used, and what it could mean for information professionals.
Johnny Swanepoel is a Blockchain advocate and enthusiast who runs the Blockchain Perth and Fremantle Facebook Groups.
James Eggleston is a doctoral researcher at Curtin University and has some interesting insights on this disruptive technology, and how it relates to libraries.
We will also hear from ALIA’s newly elected Vice-President Viv Barton, and have an opportunity to catch up and get to know new and old colleagues.

When: Tuesday 26th March, 5.30pm for a 6pm start.

Where: Geographe Room, State Library of WA.

Cost: Gold coin donation for ALIA members and $5 for non members.
