Celebrating ALIA’s 75th birthday

ALIA is
celebrating its 75th Anniversary in 2012. Established in 1937 as the Australian
Institute of Librarians, the Association assumed the title of the Library
Association of Australia in 1949, and in 1989 adopted the new name of the
Australian Library and Information Association in recognition of the broadening
scope of the profession. (ALIA website)

ALIAWest celebrated with a dinner at The Royal on the waterfront.  The food was fabulous with the dish of the evening being Kym‘s marinara featured prominently in the photo above.

Librarians and food – what a great combination!  After watching many episodes of Revenge recently, Kelly invoked her inner Amanda Clarke and couldn’t resist ordering the Vendetta wine.  And Kym‘s Sticky date pudding was positively sinful.
