2014 Penultimate ALIAWest Event with Guest Speaker

The ALIAWest Committee would like to invite you to join us for our
penultimate event in 2014 – Libraries in Society: Advocacy and
Relevance
.

The first part of the evening will see attendees from the IFLA and ALIA
National conferences share their ‘aha’ moments and takeaway messages, based on
the themes for Libraries, Citizens, Society: Confluence of Knowledge (IFLA) and
Together we’re stronger (ALIA National).

This will be followed by a presentation from Damian Lodge, President
ALIA Board of Directors. Damian’s stated goal as president is to assist ALIA in
addressing:
·         Membership
decline
·         Financial
stability
·         Education &
accreditation
·         Quality
professional development opportunities
·         Opportunities for
growth through working more closely with other allied associations
This is an exciting opportunity to hear first-hand Damian’s vision and
the directions for ALIA in the year ahead.
