ECU City Campus Visit

by | May 18, 2026 | Uncategorized

On the 28th April three members of the ALIAWest Committee were able to do a tour of the new Edith Cowan University City Campus Library. As the campus only opened in February, it was all new and exciting! Located in Yagan Square, above the Bus Port and across the road from the eateries and the Perth Railway Station, it’s central location is a bonus for student and staff travellers!

Kaarlak (Home) (the library) is located on the 4th and 5th floors and has an ambience that connects with the indigenous connection to the land and provides warm and inviting spaces using earthy tones.

The views are amazing and plenty of opportunity to gaze out the windows are provided!

The study spaces range from open spaces, such as the Lab, to collaboration spaces, lounges, study nooks and a range of bookable spaces as well.

Technology also has a place with self loan laptop lockers, book lockers for reserved items and managed print services

Support staff are provided by Peer Assistants and Library staff provide research and reference serivces as well as community activation

The WAPPA library collection is on show and they are now putting together small exhitibitions that will complement the WAAPA Shows.

It was a lovely visit and we appreciate Steve who showed us around, who made it enjoyable and was able to put up with my Asthma attack!

Steve! Thank you!

Nicola
