The ALIAWest committee would like
to thank library colleagues and friends, the State Library of WA (SLWA) and
sponsors for supporting The Great Library Quiz Night 2016.

The event was held at the State Library of Western Australia on
the evening of the Thursday, 1st December
2016. The funds raised will assist to fund the Kay Poustie Scholarship
and Sharr Award. Major sponsors were ALS Library Services, WA Museum, Art Gallery of WA, Heyder and Shears, OverDrive, Bolinda, James
Bennett and Wave Sound.

The event was very
well attended by 11 teams who answered eight rounds of questions. Bonus points were
earned by completion of a quiz sheet to name different logos; working out the
Dewey Decimal number for each table, and to see who could create the longest
Mintie wrapper with only one Mintie.

The Heads and Tails
game was played and teams were rewarded with some bonus points for their tables
and this year we also added “Air Guitar” to the quiz night, which was super fun
to watch! Thank you to all of those who were willing to participate and earn
some valuable points for their tables. There were some great moves 🙂
